2022 has beena bit of a whirlwind--in writing and in other parts of my life too.
Once again I had three books scheduled to release ... and they all did! Destination: Romance came out in June, starting off my three-book Roadtrip Romance series. In September, I added another novella collection called Love in Any Season. And this month, my second Roadtrip Romance, Roadtrip for Two hit the market. Whew! Even though they were all several months apart, it still added up to be a lot. But in a good way. This gives me a total of NINE releases now. I can hardly believe it. But what else have I done?

You guys, as someone who never thought she wanted to write a series, I can't begin to describe my excitement over having the second book of a series release. It's so much fun. And just look at those covers next to each other!!! I am on pins and needles waiting to see what the third one will look like with Skye and Benjamin and Boulder in the background. But more about them later.
Because today, we're still focused on Bree and Nathan. If you've ever been to New Orleans, you'll know Jackson Square is one of the best places to visit. It's full of history, museums, shops, and the sidewalks often have vendors and artists. So, it was a no-brainer to have my characters exploring the area in Destination: Romance.
Of course, as an author, I get to play a little loose with reality as I describe things that happen there. When I visited New Orleans as a teen, I don't remember seeing a caricature artist there. But let's be honest, it fits. So, when my characters find one, it feels right even if it never happened to me in real life.
Of course, a book needs more than just two characters. Today, we're going to chat about a few of the other characters in my book that releases NEXT WEEK, Destination: Romance.
Are you wondering if the idea behind a Roadtrip Romance came from well ... a roadtrip, you're right. And not, at the same time. Want me to explain?
Once upon a time, a long time ago (at least it feels that way with every passing year), I took a trip with two college friends over Spring Break. Good start? It only has a little bit to do with the book I wrote. Anyway, that trip wasn't planned the best. We traveled from TN to FL and then back up to AR for a few days before back to TN and school. But what do college freshmen know about planning trips? We had fun anyway, and were young enough that the hours in the car didn't bother us. We rocked out to music, flirted with the cute guys in the car next to ours, and laughed together. Are you ready to finally see the cover for my June release?
This series (my first) has been several years in the making, and I'm thrilled to be able to see it coming true. This first book is called Destination: Romance, and includes cities like New Orleans, Gulf Shores, Atlanta, and Memphis. That's right. It's a roadtrip romance. And I think it's a lot of fun. Not that I'm biased or anything. ;-) Because this series is a little different, we went with a different style cover from some of my others. This one has more cartoonish figures with one of the city scapes in the background. Are you ready to see what you think? See below! |
This is a place for me to tell you about what I'm writing, talk about the process or where some of my ideas came from, or even have other authors come in and talk about their books.
