As you all know, my word for this year was Stretch. As I started to think of all I'd accomplished this year and what I hoped for next year, I played around with several different options for a word, but one kept coming back to me again and again. Maintain. What do I mean by that and what am I hoping to gain with it? This year has been all about reaching and stretching and pushing myself to see how far I can go. And I've found I can reach a bit farther than I thought, but I also know I'm about to my limit in what I've taken on. So, when I say I want to maintain what I've gained this year, I don't mean simply hold steady and not continue to move forward. Instead, I mean keep doing what I've been doing so that my momentum won't slow.
Just like a car needs an oil change every so often, or your hair needs a trim, life needs maintenance, too. We can't just go, go, go and expect nothing to ever slow us down. That being said, I'm hoping to find a happy medium where I won't feel so stressed about things, but I can keep getting more books in your hands each year, too. So, with that in mind, here are some goals I've set for my writing life in 2021:
Have you thought about a word to embrace for 2021? How about some goals?

This is a place for me to share thoughts and ideas not just related to writing. Thoughts about what's going on in my life, about an idea I got that I thought shareworthy, or just a funny anecdote.
