"I don't know how you do everything you do." I can't begin to tell you how many times I've heard that over the years. "How do you do so much? You're always so busy!" "Wait. How many jobs are you working?" Yep. I'm busy. And occasionally, it catches up. For the last year, I've pretty much gone non-stop. Seriously. Since I started working this new job, I am either working-working or working on a book working or momming or doing something around the house or for church or something. You get the idea. With FOUR books releasing this year and edits I've signed up for to do as a content editor, there's always something to do in my "off" hours.
Well, I'm off this week. The office is closed and working hours are my own. And my body seems to realize it. Because starting last Friday evening, I had NO motivation. None. I knew I needed to be making marketing posts and maybe working up a manuscript for a proposal for 2024 or something. But I picked up a book and just read. After a while, when you've been going full-throttle for so long, your body demands you not go for a while. So, I've read several books over the last week. Done a few marketing posts. And had fun and rest. So nice. Is it going to make it easier to work a few hours each day next week? Probably not. But then again, maybe it will. Because I had some time where I wasn't expected to go, go, go quite as much. And my mind took full advantage. What about you? Does life sometimes catch up with you and make you slow down? What's your go-to activity for off-time?

This is a place for me to share thoughts and ideas not just related to writing. Thoughts about what's going on in my life, about an idea I got that I thought shareworthy, or just a funny anecdote.
