Anyone else read A LOT of books this year? I don't know if it's because of the quarantine conditions or if I would have normally read this many, but I'm over halfway through my Goodreads reading challenge. This is the third or fourth year I've kept track this way, and it fascinates me a bit. People have asked me how I have so much time to read. After all, I'm an author, a mom, a preschool teacher, a bible class teacher, a wife, etc. But I also don't think I could survive if I didn't read at least a few books every month. It's one of the ways I grow and learn. And one of the ways I cope. And just enjoyable to me, too. Plus, I can claim it's research for my occupation (can't be a good writer if you never read). So, what are some of the books I've read so far this year? If you've followed me long at all, you know I'm a bit of an overachiever sometimes. Reading seems to be no different (for instance, this month, I'm tackling War and Peace -- because I've obviously lost my mind). I'm in a reading challenge group with some friends on facebook, a book club here at home, and also set a personal challenge for myself to read one C. S. Lewis book each month this year. I'm going to let you know what books I've read for each of those. If you want to see what else I've been reading (lots of historical fiction--mostly regency era), feel free to check out my Goodreads page. :-)
For my FB challenge group, here are the categories and books I chose to fit them so far:
A Grief Observed The Screwtape Letters Till We Have Faces The Great Divorce Out of the Silent Planet The Four Loves For my book club, here's what we've read so far: Finding Dorothy by Elizabeth Letts Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen The Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder by Joanne Fluke Willa of the Wood by Robert Beatty The Shack by Sam Worthington The Designer Bag at the Garbage Dump by Jackie Macgivrin Needless to say, I've gotten a wide variety so far this year. Some I enjoyed and some I wanted to throw across the room, but I won't say which right now. How about you? Did you set a challenge of any kind this year? How many books have you read thus far?

This is a place for me to share thoughts and ideas not just related to writing. Thoughts about what's going on in my life, about an idea I got that I thought shareworthy, or just a funny anecdote.
