Read anything good this year? I've read several good things, as well as a few that disappointed. Every year for the past few I've taken the Goodread challenge to set a goal of how many books I'd read in the 365 days. This year, my goal is the same as last -- 125. I passed it last year, but I also figured I'm going to be a bit busier this year than last, so I might as well leave it the same. There are no awards at the end, except for having read that many books, which is a reward in and of itself, usually. Unlike the past few years, I did not accept any other reading challenges. I thought about it. But last year, I almost stressed myself out over trying to read something that fit that month's category, and it didn't even matter. So, I took that off my plate this year, and may or may not pick it up again in the future, due to loving reading outside my comfort zone every now and then.
The books I'm reading that I didn't actually choose for myself are the ones we're doing with my local book club--and a few of those I did choose. So, to sum up, I've read about 65 books right now, at the halfway point of the year. As usual, a ton of Christian fiction, especially regency romances. Some of my favorites I've read this year are, in no particular order:
