The Big 4-0

This is the last post about my new age--promise!
But I had to do one more.
I'm not really sure why this birthday feels like such a big deal. Maybe because of the way our culture treats this age. Or because when I was little, it seemed so far away. Is it a halfway point? A not-quite to halfway? God knows, but I don't. So I will treasure each day He gives me and try to be a light for Him.
Anyway, it was a great birthday. My Secret Sister has spoiled me thoroughly all month. Gifts came from several different family members. There was cake and homemade ice cream. Yum!
And I even got celebrated some along with my son who turns six tomorrow. Yes. That story last week might have had a bit of truth woven in. ;)

So, I've lived for 40 years now. Am I where I thought I would be at this age?
I think I am, actually.
I have my babies, something I never thought would happen a decade ago. Two beautiful blessings from God, even on the days they drive me crazy.
I have so many good things around me, like my garden and crafting supplies, enough money to do fun dates or family activities several times a year, clothes that are more "me" than I think I've ever had to this point. A cat who wakes me up way too early. ;)
And I have seven books published with more on the way. Seven! Guys! Dream. Come. True.
My husband and I still love each other. We have an awesome church family as well as our amazing physical family. And I am healthy for the most part. 
I really think I'm going to like this age.
Have you ever reached an age where you felt like you'd finally figured out who you were and were able to embrace it? I'm loving it.
