Some Bunny Loves

'Tis the season. You know the one.
The season where pastels and sandals and painted toenails come out. And egg-shaped candies and marshmallows and hams and lamb and all sorts of yummy cookies, cakes, pies, and breads.
Easter is probably my second or third favorite holiday. Even though I claim fall as my favorite season, Spring comes right after. How can it not with everything coming back to life and blooming and the bright colors and sunshine after a long stretch of dreary weather? All that newness and life makes the allergies seem not quite so bad, doesn't it?
​And then there's the fun things, too, like bunnies.

I am not talking about bunnies like the ones who might be nibbling my garden plants in a few weeks. Oh yes. I've seen them lately, and we are not going to be friends.
I'm talking about the cute bunnies you can wear on your shoulder or who live on my mantle this time of year. The ones not destructive. ;-)
The bunny pin pictured above is one my grandmother made me a LONG time ago. Seriously. I can't even remember how long I've had it, but at least since high school.
A few year ago, I was trying to come up with a fun idea to send as a goodie for the teachers in my children's lives. And I knew it wouldn't take much to make a few of these bunnies. They're literally two pieces of fabric sewn around a bit of batting and then cut in the right shape with a pin and face attached. So, I've been whipping up a few ... or more. Because of course, we have school teachers and Bible class teachers, too. And when I got to figuring it, I don't think any of them are repeats from the last few years.
Still, it's fun to spread some Easter cheer. And see replicas of my Grandma's bunny riding on shoulders of other people we love.
