Do you have "your spot?" You know what I mean. That one chair or corner of the couch you tend to gravitate more than anywhere else in your house. I do. But when I was recovering from surgery last month, my chair didn't have a high enough back to be comfortable. My sweet husband has his spot, too. It's his recliner. Can you guess what I'm about to say? I am no good on anesthesia. Or for quite a few hours after anesthesia, either. Needless to say, when my husband brought me home and helped me into the house, I was so out of it, I probably wouldn't have noticed where he led. But he led me to his recliner. He knew I'd be more comfortable there.
He got me situated, took my shoes off, tilted me back, and let me sleep. And for the next few days, I pretty much lived in that chair. I expected to be able to get up and do things after that, but my head continued to feel swimmy and I needed the higher back. And every time he noticed I needed it, he gave up his spot once more. For almost two weeks, y'all. This may not seem like much to you, but it's a pretty big deal in our house when we don't have the place we're most comfortable. Especially after a crazy day. Or if we want a nap or something. My husband gave his most comfortable place to me and made sure I had everything I needed for almost two weeks. That's romantic to me. How about you? Is there anything you particularly like that you've given up for your spouse for a while? Do you have a "spot?"

This is a place for me to share thoughts and ideas not just related to writing. Thoughts about what's going on in my life, about an idea I got that I thought shareworthy, or just a funny anecdote.
