At the beginning of the year, I decided my word for 2020 was going to be "Stretch." Want to know more about why, you can see my post here. I started out okay, working on this. I signed up for a conference. And I entered some contests. And I did a few other things, too. But between the conference being canceled due to COVID, and the contests not picking my book, and several other issues, let's just say I'm feeling a lot like the woman pictured below. I'm not saying I need to change my word, because learning to stretch myself is definitely a great goal to have. I am, however, saying that somewhere along the way I've gotten off course and need to re-evaluate. Even though the world is different right now, and I might not be able to do ALL the things I set out to accomplish this year, it doesn't mean I can't still continue to grow and expand (as long as I'm not only expanding my waist--ha!). I do plan to go to my retreat, which was moved to August from June. And I have written one book, have another one in the works, and hope to write at least one more this fall, as well as editing and pitching at least one more this year. That's a lot to accomplish. Especially considering I'm also a mom to a preschooler and kindergartner now. And hopefully teaching preschool again this fall, too.
Did you all pick a word for this year? How is yours going? Are you also having to re-evaluate?

My word has been sanctuary. I spent a lot of time thinking about how we are now the Church, the sanctuary for Worshipping Jesus. Lately, this word has reminded me that only in Him can I truly feel secure. I am His sanctuary, and He is mine. Such an awesome realization.

That's a great word and a great realization, Jenny. Thanks for sharing!

This is a place for me to share thoughts and ideas not just related to writing. Thoughts about what's going on in my life, about an idea I got that I thought shareworthy, or just a funny anecdote.
