Have you ever stopped to think about how many firsts you have in your life? First smile. First laugh. First time sleeping through the night. First word. First step. First real food. First tooth. And that's all usually in the first year. Here in our house, we're going through more firsts. My daughter lost her first tooth over the summer--pulled it out herself and shocked all of us.
And last week, she started first grade. Yet another first. For some reason, the firsts come closer than I expect them to. I guess in my head, they're more spread out, but in reality, time flies. So, as I mark each first down in memory books and share them with my friends and family, I'm also trying to soak them up and cherish this exciting time where everything happens all at once. We're working on first time she ties her shoes by herself. And first time to ride a bike without help. More big firsts. In my own life, my first novella releases next month. And it's also my first Christmas story. Are you working on any firsts lately? Or celebrating any with someone else? What's a first you remember fondly?

This is a place for me to share thoughts and ideas not just related to writing. Thoughts about what's going on in my life, about an idea I got that I thought shareworthy, or just a funny anecdote.
