Is there such a thing as too much Thanksgiving? Pictured above is just part of one of the Thanksgiving feasts I attended this year. I went to a total of FIVE. Five? Yes. But each one was just another part of my life that gives me a reason to be thankful. The first feast was with our congregation. Y'all, we have an amazing church family and I wouldn't trade them for anything. To be able to come together and feast on chicken and dressing with all the fixings, including pie, it was wonderful. We spent time chatting with some of the ones we don't always get to talk to after services, and it was a huge blessing. I am so thankful for church. The second one was with my two children at their school. I got to go up and feast on chicken and dressing with them in a crowded cafeteria. Each night, we always ask our kids to give us something they'd like to thank God for that day. That night, they said they were thankful Mommy got to come eat lunch with them. It doesn't happen as often as I'd like, but I'm trying to make it happen more. That was a definite day to be thankful--for good kids, a good school, and time together. The third Thanksgiving feast was at the preschool where I teach. We had chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, green beans and fruit, and cookies. It's always fun to get to chat with some of the parents of the kiddos I am blessed to love on each week. Since I'm in the "baby" class, it's a joy to watch them change so much throughout the year with us, and sharing some of those stories with their parents is also a joy. I have amazing coworkers, too, and it's always good to spend more time with them.
Fourth, I feasted with my other work family. The tax/law firm where I work had most of us there on the Monday before Thanksgiving, and we FEASTED. That picture above? That's part of what we ate that day. We had so many leftovers it was ridiculous. But that job has been such a blessing in my life, not only giving me the income we needed to be able to pay tuition, but also giving me new friendships and new skills. I am so glad I jumped on the opportunity, even though some days it drives me crazy to do taxes. ;) And the final Thanksgiving was actual Thanksgiving day. We spent the day with my whole entire family for the first time in over three years. The last three years, my sister's family was living across the ocean. Needless to say, there was much to be thankful for as we feasted on our turkey and dressing (I could seriously eat dressing every day of the week, I love it so much, but my family doesn't feel the same, so I enjoy it when I can) and pie. Cousin giggles, baby snuggles, crafting, chatting, and laughter filled the house. My family is amazing and I'm so grateful God put me into their midst. Am I wobbling a little now because of how much I gobbled up over the last few weeks? Maybe. Would I do it all again? You bet. Not only did I love the food, but I love the people I enjoyed it with. How many Thanksgiving feasts did you attend this year? Do you have a favorite group to celebrate with? A favorite food from this season?

This is a place for me to share thoughts and ideas not just related to writing. Thoughts about what's going on in my life, about an idea I got that I thought shareworthy, or just a funny anecdote.
