I don't know about where you are, but here in Tennessee, we've had a lot of cloudy days lately. It's just that time of year. January and February come with lots of clouds, rain (sometimes snow), and chilly days. It's called winter. And after a while, it starts to get to me. Don't misunderstand. I don't mind rain every now and then. But I need some sunshine too. especially this time of year when the days are shorter and we're inside more. It's not full-blown SADD, but it's close. So, what can I find in clouds to be good? To get my children to school on time, we have to leave the house pretty early. and when it's cold at night, there is often frost on the windshield, which means it takes longer than normal to be able to leave.
But not on cloudy nights. Frost only comes on nights when the skies are clear, the stars twinkling brilliantly above. I love to pick out the constellations of Orion and Cassiopeia and maybe a dipper or two. But I hate having to scrape the frost (despite my children thinking it's fun when I scrape smiley faces or hearts into it on their windows). So, I don't mind when it's cloudy overnight. The fluffy clouds keep my windshield nice and clear saving me several minutes of scraping and numb fingers the next morning. Now, if the sun comes out shortly after that, I'm more than okay with that too. ;) Still, on days when things start getting you down, it's not always easy to find the "silver lining," so to speak. What about you? Do you find it hard to find the good in something that seems so depressing? how do you find the good in what seems bad?

This is a place for me to share thoughts and ideas not just related to writing. Thoughts about what's going on in my life, about an idea I got that I thought shareworthy, or just a funny anecdote.
