Every now and then, I look down and think, "Ugh. My belly doesn't look like I've lost any weight at all. Inches, either." I get frustrated and berate myself for that third cookie I ate the night before. Promise to do some extra workouts the next week when I have more time. Then, I'll turn a different way and catch my reflection in the mirror. And you know what? The belly may not be completely flat like I want, but it's also not sticking out as far as I thought it was, either. This doesn't work with everything, mind you. Some days it doesn't even work with my belly. But it does work a lot of the time.
Simply looking at something from a different angle--a different perspective--makes it look completely different. It could be a relationship issue you're having with someone (Have you looked at it from their point of view?). It could be that you can't do something you want to do right away, but then you realize it lets you do several other things instead. Maybe you didn't get a job or promotion--but it left you with more time, or allowed someone who needed the money more to take the position. There's always a million and one "what ifs" in life. Have you tried looking at things from a different perspective lately? What has it shown you that you didn't see before?

This is a place for me to share thoughts and ideas not just related to writing. Thoughts about what's going on in my life, about an idea I got that I thought shareworthy, or just a funny anecdote.
