I absolutely adore Easter. As much as I love Halloween and Thanksgiving and Christmas, I might even love Easter more. I like the food (we do lamb and cheesy potatoes and peas--and for breakfast, homemade cinnamon rolls). I love the flowers that are blooming like the dogwood tree next door. I love new dresses and sandals and sometimes even a hat. I love the colors and the focus on Jesus's resurrection. Seriously. What's not to love? So, why, of all my books, have I written none that are actually during Easter? I have several Christmas ones. Those are super fun. And I have a Valentine's one in a novella collection. But none that are set at only Easter time. In fact, when I search for books around this time of year, I find not many set solely around Easter. It's a shame, isn't it? I think I may need to contemplate this some more and see what I can come up with. Until then, I do have a couple of books that include Easter. Saving Grace has a sweet scene where Greg gives Michelle an Easter Egg full of jelly beans after church services. And Writing Home has a chapter or two that include Easter and all the festivities, but it covers almost a year, so that makes sense. I don't think any of my other books even mention it. Do you love books set during a particular holiday? What's your favorite? Have you found some good reads set around Easter? I'd love suggestions! Are you here specifically for the Easter Egg Hunt? Here's your clue: COMPASSION Have you figured out the phrase yet? We're so grateful you're participating in our fun. Not sure what I'm talking about? Find out more here. And if you haven't signed up for my newsletter yet, I'd love to have you follow along on this crazy writing journey (who knows? Maybe I'll write an Easter book!). You can sign up here.

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Colossians 3:12 NIV

This is a place for me to tell you about what I'm writing, talk about the process or where some of my ideas came from, or even have other authors come in and talk about their books.
