A Shift

For all of January, I edited. For the last few days, I also edited. I made it through two full-length novels for other authors, a novella, my line edits for Fairest Inn All, and my final read-through for Fairest Inn All, all in January. Then, this week, I knocked out content edits on my own novella (releasing September). Needless to say, I'm ready for a change for a few weeks. And boy am I glad I don't have to do it all by hand like people used to. I love editing, but this was a lot all at once.
So, for the next few weeks, I am happy to shift gears and focus on a few other things.

I am one of the ladies in charge of our annual Ladies' Day at church. That means this is our go-time because it always happens on the last Saturday of February. I've gotta refresh the program so it can be printed, make sure all is in order for next year so we can have a save-the-date, and then help set up and run everything too. I have a great team of women who help me so I'm not worried about it, but it does need to be done.
Tax season started at the end of January, so my work has picked up in the last few weeks too. That keeps me hopping.
This is the month for Girl Scouts to do booth sales for cookies, so my daughter and I will participate in that one weekend.
We'll get to see my sister's family for the first time in a year while they're back stateside. My son has a school play one evening. I'm going to another play with friends another night. And sometime in there, I'd love to have a date night, but we'll see if that happens or not.
Whew! Everything we cram into this shortest month makes me glad most of my edits were on either side of it. February is packed!
