Happy first day of Spring! When we first moved into our house back in January of 2018, we had no idea why there were tires in the backyard. Turns out they were used to plant daffodils. We didn't really want tires in our backyard, so we dug them up and later dug up the daffodil bulbs, replanting them in my front flower bed. Of course, you know what happens if you don't get all the bulbs, don't you? See that picture above? It's from a bulb or two we missed when we dug up "all" the daffodils a few years back. And it's from this year. In fact, we had a lot of daffodil leaves come up in the flower bed, but only a few actually bloom. But these we didn't want in the backyard are blooming their hearts out.
Sometimes, we have great plans of where and how we want things. But life doesn't always work as we lay it out. I had great plans to finish my book this week, but I had to stop for several other projects more urgent. Doesn't mean I won't finish before the week is up, but it's not there yet. The thing about my daffodils is, my kids love having the ones in the backyard. They only see the front ones when going in and out of the car. In the back, right next to their swing set, they can enjoy them whenever they go out and play. And for those projects, it feels really good to have them accomplished and done so I can move on with what I want to do without worrying over them. Even though we have grand plans, sometimes God has others. And most of the time, that works out better anyway. What's something you've planned before that hasn't worked quite the way you expected?

This is a place for me to share thoughts and ideas not just related to writing. Thoughts about what's going on in my life, about an idea I got that I thought shareworthy, or just a funny anecdote.
