Can we be brutally honest for a minute? Seriously. Have you noticed that all the romantic things are aimed at women? Okay, okay. I get it. Women WANT romance. But you know what? Guys need to be treated special, too. No. They probably don't want jewelry or flowers or sappy romcoms. But that doesn't mean they need to be left out, either. I've noticed this trend in our world where it's like everyone expects women to be treated better than men. And I, for one, hate it. So, what to do about it? How about remembering that it takes two to make a couple? All the romancing shouldn't be done on one side. When a special occasion comes, I try to find things that make my husband feel loved--a favorite cheese that he doesn't always get, his favorite snack cakes or donuts, a favorite meal, music he's been wanting, or plans to do something he likes, even if it's not my favorite.
Yes. I know several of the things I mentioned were food. What can I say? There really might be something to that old mantra that the way to a man's heart is his stomach. Anyway, giving your guy extra attention or special treatment isn't going to spoil him anymore than it does you when it's reversed. And who's to say that he doesn't deserve to be spoiled every now and then? Let's end the trend that only women want to receive gifts and extra love on special occasions and Valentine's day. This week, see if you can find a way to make your man feel a little more special. I bet he shows his appreciation. What are some ways you find to remember the guy when it comes to romance?
