As I posted about last week, we celebrated our anniversary. And I have to admit something. Gift-giving is one of my main love languages. Seriously. I thrive on being able to find the perfect gift for someone. This year, as I scratched my brain, trying to figure out what I could get my husband that he'd have no expectations of, and would appreciate, I remembered an idea I had a while back. Let me explain. My husband LOVES baseball. More than I will ever understand. I had seen these maps for people who travelled a lot, where they could scratch of different states or countries they'd visited. And I love the idea. But much as we talk about travelling, we don't do much of it. Then, I discovered the baseball stadium one.
Yep. My husband's dream is to one day visit every single major league stadium in the United States. We've visited three so far. THREE. So, I got him this map. And you know what that means? Not only is this a fun map, but it's also a promise. Because what's the point of having a map if you're not going to be able to scratch off any of the stadiums every now and then. Time to start planning some trips near these sites so we can scratch off a few here and there. And hey, in the meantime, maybe we can accomplish that dream of seeing more of the country, too. I don't love baseball nearly as much as my husband, by the way. I like to go to a game every now and then. He'd watch it everyday. But when you love someone, you want to help them accomplish their dreams--and you accept that even if you don't always enjoy the same things to the same level, you can still enjoy spending time with each other doing the things your spouse likes, too. So, for our anniversary, I fed my love of finding the perfect gift. And now I get to keep giving on it because every time we are able to scratch off another space, I know how happy he'll be. Now, to find some more wall space so we can hang it up ... Have you ever given a gift that encompassed more than just the package it came in? Have you ever given something that came with a promise of more?

This is a place for me to share thoughts and ideas not just related to writing. Thoughts about what's going on in my life, about an idea I got that I thought shareworthy, or just a funny anecdote.
