While I didn't necessarily set new year's resolutions this year, I did set some personal goals for myself. Mostly things that would lower my stress levels which have been building like crazy over the last year or so. One of the goals is to stay on top of dishes. And to straighten the house every now and then when I can't stand having to hop over legos and books anymore. But another--one I'm honestly more serious about--is keeping my inbox from overflowing like it was doing last year. Do you know how stressful it is to come in and see you have over 100 unread emails? I don't know about you, but I signed up for way too many newsletters. If my newsletter is one of the ones you're signed up for, thanks a bunch. But if you're like me, and don't always have time to read every single newsletter that comes to your inbox, I understand that too. It's why I'm being pickier and unsubscribing from a few I never actually read anyway. And why I'm trying to be more consistent with actually going through and cleaning out my inbox instead of leaving it for a week or more to sit neglected.
I'm also trying to unsubscribe from several of the mailings that come in from companies too. Because let's be honest. I pretty much never read those. ;) I just can't read every single email from a company that sends me five or six a day to talk about their newest sale. In the big scheme of things, does it matter how many unread emails are in my inbox? Probably not. But if taking several minutes a day and cleaning it out keeps my stress levels lower, isn't it worth it? As for the house-keeping stuff, well ... I'm still working on that. How about you? What's something seemingly small that adds to your stress? What are you doing this year to try and alleviate it?

This is a place for me to share thoughts and ideas not just related to writing. Thoughts about what's going on in my life, about an idea I got that I thought shareworthy, or just a funny anecdote.
