This has been a year of adjustments. In more ways than one. From mid-January on, I've been going to the chiropractor. I'm finally back down to every other week, but it was much needed because I had somehow done a number on my back. And while it's frustrating to know I needed someone to put my ribs back in place every week or so, it's nice to be able to go in and get that adjustment so I can continue to live with less pain. As I mentioned a couple weeks ago, my husband and I replaced our mattress. We'd had our old one for ten years, so it was definitely needing it. At least, my hips were needing to not have a spring digging into them. The thing is, when you get a different kind of mattress, you have to adjust to how it sleeps. This one is a memory foam which feels completely different than a spring mattress. We're getting used to it, but those first few nights were a bit rough for me.
Last week, I picked up a new pair of eyeglasses. I've worn glasses since the fifth grade, so no big deal. but these have special lenses that are sort of between regular and bifocals. Yeah. With greater age comes greater powered lenses, or something like that. Needless to say, putting these glasses on was a definitely change to what I'd had. And I'm adjusting to how things look through them. With everything in life, as much as things stay the same, they also change. It's not a bad thing. But it does take adjustment. Am I getting better at rolling with changes and adjusting to them? I honestly don't know. But I do know, each time I have to adjust to something else, I do. It isn't always fun. But I'd like to think it makes us stronger/better/and maybe more flexible. What do you think? Have you had to adjust to something different lately?

This is a place for me to share thoughts and ideas not just related to writing. Thoughts about what's going on in my life, about an idea I got that I thought shareworthy, or just a funny anecdote.
